Shaken Baby Syndrome
It’s been reported * that shaken baby syndrome affects 1200 to 1600 children each and every year.
That’s HORRIFYING!
Worst of all, there are rarely any outward physical signs of this trauma happening to your child. For many parents, they don’t know until it’s too late since shaken baby syndrome is commonly fatal. At best, you’re “lucky” if your child lives through it with “only” severe brain damage.
The video to the right is a news clip of a babysitter who was arrested to abusing a 14-month-old baby. The baby lived, but with SERIOUS physical issues.
As a parent, it gives me the cold chills – it’s so scary to know that happens to children – it’s pointless!
The reality in this day and time is that both parents work. For many, it is unavoidable and absolutely necessary to make ends meet.
But WHO is with your kids when YOU are not?
How well do you really know your babysitter, nanny, or child care provider?
I am absolutely floored when I learn how many parents leave their children alone with a virtual stranger without as much as doing a simple background check online to know a bit more about that person – just in case.
Shaken baby syndrome can be prevented with the use of two simple things by the parents:
1. Do a background check on your child care provider!
It takes maybe 5 minutes to do a totally private background check online from the comfort of your home or office. There’s no excuse NOT to do one on someone who is going to be alone with your children.
2. Get a clock camera or some other sort of “nanny cam” to be your eyes when you’re not around.
Not sure you understand how “nanny cams” (hidden clock cameras, etc) work? Read this article – How Nanny Cams Work. It will explain a lot.
Our children deserve at LEAST that much from us.
Clock Camera Catches Nanny Shaking a 5-Month Old Baby
Want to be SHOCKED? This video shows just how important a clock camera can be. Just imagine if these parents DID NOT have a clock camera in place and this abuse continued without them knowing…..
GET A NANNY CAM!
